Start ROFMOD

ROFMOD starts with an empty project containing an empty scenario.

Save Project

Save the new project at the desired location and give it a meaningful name.

Define scenario names

Describe the still empty scenario in the Scenario Manager with a meaningful scenario name.

Enter Profile (Profile Definition Tab)

Enter or import a profile. You will find an example profile (DEMO_PROFIL.csv) in the ROFMOD installation directory (default path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\GEOTEST\ROFMOD\samples"). Describe the profile in the profile properties. You can already define the start zone here.

Entering terrain parameters (Tab Terrain Definition)

Define the zone limits and then the zone parameters. For the estimation of the resulting hit distance (for forest zones) a block definition should already be available.

Adjust simulation parameters (Tab Rockfall Simulation)

Check the block definition and adjust the simulation parameters. In particular, the start zone must be adapted to the profile. Start the rockfall simulation.

Examine the different statistics diagrams and try out the different plot settings.

Layout Settings (Tab Layout / Graphic)

Preview the simulation result. Customize content and design to your liking and create a new preview. Save the preview as a PDF file.

Animation (Animation tab)

The dynamics of the fall blocks can be visualized with this option.

Simulate dams (Dam Tab)

A complete statistic of all fall trajectories is provided for the dam area. In particular, for all fall blocks which hit the dam, the safety factors against the breakthrough of the dam are calculated.

Optionally, the 'Playground' tab can be used to change the dam geometry and the impact parameters and thus check the effects on the safety against breakthrough.

Close ROFMOD

Save the project before exiting ROFMOD.
